XXIV Meeting of the Council of the CRE

The main tasks of the XXIV Meeting of the Council of the CRE were the preparation for the Xth Assembly of the CRE in Perth (Scotland) on 9th September 2017. Pedro Lopez (General Consultor); Johannes Roemelt (Provincial of Saint Clement Province), Piotr Sulkowski (Secretary) and Jacek Zdrzalek (Coordinator of the CRE) met in San Gioacchino community in Rome from 29th to 30th May 2017.

The X Assembly of the CRE is connected to the Third Phase of the General Chapter and it will follow immediately after the Chapter. Some of the decisions which will be taken during the Third Phase should be implemented immediately in the everyday life of the Conference.

The Council dedicated time among others to:

– determining the Preliminary Agenda of the Assembly

– nominating two Moderators of the Assembly (Provincial from Rome Province: Gianni Congiu and Provincial from Bratislava-Prague Province: Vaclav Hypius)

– deciding about the prioritization of the decisions of the Canonical Phase which the Conference should implement as soon as possible. There are 52 official decisions but more than 18 of them are specifically connected to some detailed projects and activities of the Conferences

– preparing a booklet for every participants with all the necessary documents and information

– preparing the manner of election for the Coordinator and for the one of the Consulter who became the General Consultor.

The members of the Council also checked the preparations for the evangelization and formation meetings of the CRE during the summer time as well as evaluating the last meetings of the Secretariats and Commission of the CRE.
