Letter from Coordinator 6a Easter 2012

We ourselves announce to you  THE GOOD NEWS that what God promised our fathers he has fulfilled for us, their children, in raising up Jesus (Acts 13: 32-33)

Dear Confreres,
Lay Missionaries of the Most Holy Redeemer & Partners in Mission,

Every day each one of us receives thousands of pieces of news from many sources all around the world. One thing these messages have in common is that each one wants to convince us that its news is the most important, and that we will find something special.

But we know the greatest news in world history came to the women at Jesus’ tomb when the Angel said to them: THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOU TO BE AFRAID. I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here, for HE HAS RISEN, as he said he would (Mt 28, 5-6).

Each dawning of Easter morning brings us exactly the same news that Christ is risen!

Our Conference Apostolic Priorities states we must consider how Jesus Christ might once again be made present as ‘GOOD NEWS’ for the men and women of our Continent. And all from the conviction that nourishing Christian values in Europe and presenting faith in Jesus Christ will respond to the anxieties germinating in the hearts of the people of today.

During this Easter season may this victory of Jesus, may his Resurrection, and may his words be our FAITH, HOPE and LOVE: Do not be afraid (Mt 28, 10); You are witnesses to this (Lk 24, 48); Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations (Mt 28, 19) and look, I am with you always; yes, to the end of time (Mt 28, 20).

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU !
MAY THE GRACE AND JOY OF THE RISEN CHRIST BE WITH YOU ALL !

Rome, Easter 2012

with prayer
